You may be seasoned in the kitchen, but cooking for a large number of people is a whole new ball game. From planning to prepping, scaling up your usual processes and volume can seem daunting and time-consuming. Fret not — here, we’ve gathered some tips and tricks for stress-free bulk cooking!
1. Multi-task like a pro
One of the major challenges in cooking for more people is making several dishes in larger quantities in a limited period of time. Rope in the help of our induction hobs that feature FlexInduction.
Your pots and pans no longer have to joust for space on the cooktop — as induction heats the base of the cookware and not the hob itself, you can arrange them in any way you like!
2. Speed up the prepping process
Slicing and dicing already take up a large chunk of food prepping time, and even more so when cooking for a larger group. This is why we recommend streamlining this cumbersome process by using a kitchen machine, such as a Bosch Food Processor or the MUM5Pro Kitchen Machine.
Depending on the accessories you use, you can even whisk eggs, knead dough, mince meat, and more, all in one machine!
3. Go buffet-style
While plating and serving individual portions to your guests may feel more intimate, it’s time-consuming and impractical when it comes to hosting a large crowd. Instead, opt for a buffet set-up!
After cooking up your large batches of dishes, place them in serving plates and bowls on the dining table or in a designated area. Let your guests help themselves, and they can even go back for seconds!
4. Make familiar recipes
As much as we enjoy trying out new recipes, it’s risky to experiment before a party — you never know what may go wrong. Go for your tried-and-tested recipes to avoid any last-minute mishaps, or if you really want to, set aside time one week before the party to try out new recipes.
5. Serve drinks in a pitcher or punch bowl
As a party host, you are already busy entertaining guests and taking care of logistics, so avoid adding another task to the list by playing bartender to your guests. Try this: make large batches of cocktails or mocktails, serve them in a pitcher or punchbowl, and your guests can pour themselves drinks!
6. Let your dishwasher do the work
After the last guest has left, it’s time to get down to cleaning up. Washing so many dishes can be overwhelming, so make use of a dishwasher to get the job done. Our dishwashers boast the DosageAssist function, which works by dispensing detergent onto a special tray on the top basket, where it completely dissolves. This makes for a more effective and cleaner wash!
While your reliable dishwasher takes care of the tableware, you can use your time more efficiently, such as removing the decorations and wiping down the tables.
